Today is the 25th Anniversary of the Ordination of Fr. Richard Davis, T.O.R., at St. Francis College, Loretto, PA. Tom T. and I, both high school seniors at the time, had taken the drive out to western Pennsylvania for the occasion, starting our drive on Friday night, May 9th, 1980 and arriving in Loretto well after dark and the radio stations had all gone to bed. The next morning greeted us with a warm and sunny day, an absolutely perfect day for the former Bro. Richard’s ordination day. Tom had taken a few photos during the ceremony, which are available here .
Later that day, Tom and I drove to Indiana University of Pennsylvania to visit his sister Kathy – we went to a university production of Eugene Ionesco’s Rhinoceros that night, crashed in her dorm room (see picture of me here) and woke early the next morning, stopped at Mister Donut (Hey! Mister that’s a donut…) and headed back home – only 3 weeks to graduation and senior week…
